Chief Minister writes to Ambassador of the Philippines

Tuesday, 12 November 2013

Chief Minister Allan Bell MHK has written to the Ambassador of the Philippines in London to express the Isle of Man’s sympathies following the devastation caused by Typhoon Haiyan.

The letter says:

On behalf of the Government and people of the Isle of Man I offer deepest condolences as your country copes with the devastation and tragic loss of life arising from Typhoon Haiyan.

We have a much-valued Filipino community here in the Isle of Man who are an integral part of Island life. We very much understand and share in their concern for their loved ones and for the terrible situation being faced in the Philippines.
