The Government has today published the first quarterly update for the final iteration of the Island Plan 2025–26, marking a significant milestone in the delivery of the wider programme initiated in 2022.
The update outlines progress on the remaining 83 milestones that will guide strategic action across the Island over the plan’s lifetime.
This latest report provides a high-level overview of achievements across key areas, reaffirming the Government’s commitment to transparency and keeping the community informed about ongoing work.
While many of the milestones are set to be completed within the current administration, some represent longer-term objectives that will support the Island’s sustainable development in the years ahead.
Notably, 23 milestones have been completed during this quarter with the majority of remaining actions progressing on schedule.
Key achievements this quarter include:
Infrastructure and housing
- Closure of applications for Round 2 of the Island Infrastructure Scheme
- Progress on housing delivery, inward migration policies, and planning reform
Economic development
- Launch of new business support schemes
- Publication of Executive Agency 2025 programmes
- Successful delivery of the Innovation Challenge Finale
Environment and sustainability
- Publication of the Climate Change Annual Report
- Development of a Territorial Sea Legislative Framework
Health and wellbeing
- Publication of the Healthcare Mandate & Operating Plan
- Implementation plan for the Capacity Act
- Expansion of the Smile of Mann programme
- Release of a research report exploring the potential for an Island Campus
Community support
- Introduction of a single-entry point pathway for homelessness support, delivered through Wellbeing Partnerships
These initial results demonstrate clear momentum and reflect a strong foundation for the delivery of the remaining milestones. The Island Plan continues to act as a vital roadmap for coordinated Government action and long-term improvement for Island life.
