Director of Central Registry appointed

Monday, 10 August 2015

John Wilkinson, formerly the Isle of Man Companies Registrar, has been appointed to the post of Director of the Central Registry. He takes up the role with immediate effect.

The Central Registry was formed on the 1 April 2015 following the transfer of several functions of the General Registry – namely the Charities Registry, Civil Registry, Deeds Registry, Land Registry, Public Records Office and Probate Registry - to the Department of Economic Development where they merged with the Companies Registry.

Leonard Singer MHK, the Department’s political member with responsibility for the Central Registry commented:

‘I would like to congratulate John on his appointment. The creation of the Central Registry enables cost savings and improvements across our registry services for the benefit of the public and business community.'

The new role of Director of Central Registry is not an additional post and the responsibilities of the Companies Registrar role have been incorporated into it.
