Perinatal Mental Health Liaison Team
The Perinatal Mental Health Liaison Team has been introduced by Manx Care to ensure mothers and their families receive the mental health support they need from their child’s conception until their child is 2 years old.
The team is there to help prevent any significant long-term negative impact on the mother, their child and their family during the perinatal period. It creates a unique opportunity to support and treat mental health problems which helps to strengthen families, ensures children have the best start in life and reduces the risk of unnecessary suffering, isolation and suicide.
The Perinatal Mental Health Liaison Team can be accessed by self-referral or by referrals from professionals involved in your care. Once completed please return the form by email PNMHLT@gov.im. The team will get back to you as soon as possible, however, it might not been the same day.
If you feel you are unable to keep yourself or someone else safe, please call 999.
If you require urgent support due to a significant deterioration in your mental health and/or an increase in psychological distress, please call the Crisis Response and Home Treatment Team on +44 1624 642860.
