Care services
A wide variety of care services are now registered, regulated and inspected by the Registration and Inspection Unit.
These services are covered under the categories described within the Regulation of Care Act 2013 and cover a broad range of services ranging from:
- childminders
- adult care homes
- nurse agencies
- domiciliary care agencies
- hospice
Such services include those provided by the voluntary sector, private sector and the Department of Social Care.
Since the introduction of the Regulation of Care Act 2013, inspection reports are publically available on each service’s web page and will be updated to the web page in due course.
The registration of those care services currently operating but new to regulation is being implemented on a phased basis. Until these services are registered they can continue to operate as long as they have notified the Registration and Inspection unit. There is a list of these services on the Registration and Inspection web page.
