Homelessness Support
If you're worried about being homeless or homelessness
Call our freephone number +44 1624 650000 any time any day to get help and support if you have nowhere to stay tonight and need emergency accommodation.
This is the hospital switchboard number. An operator will be able to direct your call to the correct support service regardless of your location on the island or what time of day you are calling.
Call 999 if you are, or you see someone in immediate danger or urgent need of medical attention.
About homelessness
Being homeless doesn’t always mean sleeping rough. Homelessness can be hidden, such as sleeping on a friend’s sofa, living in unsuitable or unsafe accommodation, or individuals facing eviction for example.
The Isle of Man's Working Definition of Homelessness aims to help address the immediacy of homelessness, assisting stakeholders across the island who provide frontline homeless services and gather data on homeless communities.
If you, or someone you know is homeless, sleeping rough or facing a housing crisis your priority should be to contact +44 1624 650000.
If you have received a notice from your landlord
It is a criminal offence for your landlord to evict you without an Order from the High Court, unless your landlord proves they had reasonable cause to believe that you were no longer occupying the property. For further advice and guidance on what to do if you receive a notice from your landlord, visit the tenancy protection webpage or the Office of Fair Trading consumers advice page for information and advice.
