Passport Express Service Returns

The Expresss Service has been reintroduced with effect from today (1 August 2024).

The expedited five-day service is designed to ensure timely delivery of passports for those requiring urgent travel documentation.

The service was suspended in August 2023 due to changes to the delivery service to the Island, staff changes and a significant increase in the number of passport applications being received.

The return of the express service is part of the Treasury’s ongoing commitment to provide efficient and responsive passport services for urgent travel needs.

The Express Passport Service is available for both renewals and new passport applications.

It is important to note that the five working day processing time quoted only covers the time needed to handle the passport application. It does not include the time needed for postage and delivery. After processing, the physical passport must be dispatched from the UK and delivered to the applicant. Therefore, the total time from application to delivery may exceed five days.

Passport holders are urged to check the validity of their passports early, to avoid any inconvenience or processing delay and to allow themselves time to complete new application forms and obtain photos or other supporting documentation.

Under the standard passport service you will usually get your passport within 20 working days. It may take longer than 20 working days if we need more information, or we need to interview you

The Passports Public Counter is open from 10am until 2pm Monday to Friday in the Isle of Man Passport Office, Ground Floor, Government Office, Bucks Road, Douglas.

Passport enquires can be sent by email to passports@gov.im, or for more information visit the Isle of Man Passports webpage.
