Our Island Plan

Manx Integrated Sexual Health Centre (MISH) opens in Douglas

Tuesday, 5 November 2024

The Integrated Sexual Health team is moving to new location in Douglas!

From the afternoon of Wednesday 6 November 2024, our clinic will be closed whilst the team moves to the new location, and will reopen to the public on Tuesday 12 November 2024. Telephone calls will be diverted to team mobile phones during this time, so patients should not be concerned about being able to reach the team.

Any appointments from 12 November 2024 will be held at the new location.

Staff have been informing patients in the lead-up to this change and posters have been displayed in clinic to ensure patients are aware of this exciting development.

The new clinic will incorporate a fully integrated sexual health service, providing a ‘one stop shop’ for a full range of contraception options, testing, management and treatment of all sexually transmitted infections (STIs) including HIV, thus avoiding the need for the patient to attend numerous appointments held over different locations as was the case previously.

Amanda Dawson, Lead Nurse for Integrated Sexual Health Services, said:

'We are really excited about this move, which we believe will have an extremely positive impact on the care and support we can provide to our patients. The new, larger space offers more clinical rooms to address the demands of our ever-growing service. It is a modern space that is much more suitable for our service needs, and its location is more accessible for our patients.'
