Manx Care is sharing news about continued growth across its frontline workforce, with new clinical and social care colleagues joining teams that support people across the Island every day.
Recent recruitment has focused on strengthening services where demand is greatest, particularly emergency care and adult social work. These new appointments are already helping to bolster capacity, reduce pressure on existing teams and support safe, high‑quality care for patients and service users.
Alongside welcoming new staff, Manx Care has continued work to improve how its workforce is organised and supported, ensuring teams are clearly structured and services are well positioned to meet the needs of the Island’s population.
Boost for emergency and patient‑facing care
The Isle of Man Ambulance Service has seen a particularly positive period of recruitment, with new colleagues joining both frontline and leadership roles.
Appointments include additional Paramedics, a new Clinical Director and specialist posts focused on clinical quality, emergency planning and off‑Island referrals. Together, these roles strengthen the service’s ability to respond quickly and effectively, while also supporting continuous improvement and strong clinical leadership.
This investment helps ensure that emergency services remain resilient, responsive and ready to care for patients when they need help most.
Growing strength in Adult Social Work
There has also been encouraging progress within Adult Social Work services, with new Social Workers joining hospital‑based, community and review teams, alongside the appointment of a new Assistant Director of Adult Social Work.
These roles are central to supporting people through key moments in their care, including timely assessments, smoother hospital discharges and helping individuals remain independent and supported in their own homes wherever possible.
By building capacity in these teams, Manx Care is helping to improve experiences for service users and their families, while supporting closer working across health and care services.
A positive step forward
Helen Ashley, Executive Director for People and Workforce at Manx Care, said:
'Our staff are at the heart of everything we do, so it is really encouraging to be able to welcome new colleagues into services that make such a difference to people’s lives. These appointments reflect our continued commitment to strengthening frontline care, supporting our existing teams and building a stable, skilled workforce for the Island. We know that investing in our people is key to delivering safe, compassionate and high‑quality care, now and into the future.'
This period of growth reflects Manx Care’s ongoing focus on attracting skilled, committed professionals into roles that matter most, while continuing to reduce vacancies and strengthen leadership across services.
Manx Care remains committed to values‑led recruitment and investing in its workforce: recognising that supporting staff is essential to improving care and outcomes for patients and service users.
