Residents are invited to attend the next Isle be Ready event, taking place on Monday 22 June at the Sea Terminal, Douglas, offering an opportunity to learn how to prepare for emergencies and stay safe.
The free event will bring together key emergency and response agencies from across the Island, giving the public a chance to meet some frontline teams and gain practical advice on how to prepare for a range of situations.
Organised as part of the Department of Home Affairs’ ongoing resilience programme, Isle be Ready aims to raise awareness of the simple steps individuals, families and businesses can take to be better prepared for unexpected events such as severe weather, power outages or travel disruption.
The event will run from 10am to 1pm in a highly accessible central location, making it easy for people who work in the city, families and anyone else from across the Island to drop in.
Emergency Planning Officer Jane Kelly MBE said:
‘Isle be Ready is about giving people the confidence and knowledge to look after themselves and each other when it matters most.
‘By bringing together our emergency services and partners in a busy public setting like the Sea Terminal, we can reach a wide audience and show just how simple it can be to take practical steps that make a real difference in an emergency.’
The initiative highlights the importance of community resilience and encourages everyone to play a role in keeping the Island safe.
No booking is required, and attendees are welcome to visit at any time during the event.
