Manx Care's Family Placement Service is proud to be supporting Foster Care Fortnight 2026 (11 to 24 May), a UK‑wide campaign led by The Fostering Network, which celebrates the vital role foster carers play and highlights the urgent need for more carers.
Across the Isle of Man, foster carers open their homes to children and young people, offering stability, safety and care at crucial times in their lives. During Foster Care Fortnight, Manx Care's Family Placement Service has activities and events planned to thank the Island's foster carers for their dedication, while also raising awareness of the ongoing need for more people to consider fostering.
This year's theme, 'This is Fostering', shines a light on the everyday realities of fostering. It celebrates the skill, commitment and compassion foster carers show from helping a child settle into a new school, to building trust after difficult experiences, and adapting their approach to meet each child's individual needs.
