Adverse conditions are expected to affect the Island

From 00:00 GMT on Friday 23 January 2026

Until 16:00 GMT on Friday 23 January 2026

[Updated 05:30] Strong east or southeast winds will likely lead to minor coastal overtopping of waves for the next high tide [Friday 23rd January at ~14:05], with a risk of sea water and slight debris washing onto some exposed coastal roads and promenades.

There will likely be less splash over for the high tide overnight, compared to tomorrow afternoon, as the winds begin to veer more to the southeast and ease for a time around then, whereas tomorrow afternoon's high tide will be accompanied by a strong easterly.
