Launch of Go Easy travel cards

Friday, 1 September 2017

Go Easy cards are a new and flexible way to save money on bus travel in the Isle of Man.

The latest addition to bus vannin’s Go card range, Go Easy cards are perfect for frequent, fare-paying travellers who don’t want the commitment of an annual travel card.

Go Easy cards offer unlimited travel on all scheduled bus vannin services and half price travel on Hullad Oie Night Owl services for 28 consecutive days

The smart cards, which carry photos, cost an initial £5 to purchase, plus payment for one of the products below:

Go Easy Adult for passengers aged 22 and over: £80.

Go Easy 18-21 for passengers aged 18-21: £60.

Go Easy Teen for 5 to 17-year-olds: £40.

After the initial 28 days travel has expired, the cards can be topped up with another 28 days or with other flexible options such as 1, 3, 5 or 7 day savers – or left empty until needed again.

Go Easy 18-21 cards provide an opportunity for young adults to save money, whether they’re full-time students, seeking work or in employment.

Go Easy Teen cards can be shown as proof of entitlement to a half-fare bus ticket, even when credit is used up.

School and University College Isle of Man (UCM) students now have greater choice and flexibility.

Existing Go School and Go College cards remain the best option for students who only use the bus to travel to and from school or UCM. However, Go Easy cards are an ideal additional purchase for additional journeys during school holidays and weekends.

Students who use the bus for travel other than to or from school can save money by switching to a Go Easy card.

Go Easy Adult cards are available online at www.gotravel.im and purchasers can either upload their own photo or select to take one as part of the process.

Those applying for Go Easy Teen or Go Easy 18-21 cards will need to show a passport, driving licence or birth certificate to prove their age and identity (if using a birth certificate, then an alternative form of official ID or a certified photograph must also be provided), so these can’t be purchased online.

Applications for all three Go Easy cards can be made at the Isle of Man Government Welcome Centre at the Sea Terminal from Monday 4 September 2017.  They’ll also be on sale to students at UCM on Tuesday 5 September 2017.  Cards will be received by post within 10 working days.

More information is available on the Government website.
