Manx Care Record

Project Lead: Robin O'Connor (interim)

Project Manager: To be confirmed

Purpose

This project aims to implement the Manx Care Record, a single overarching digital care record that provides appropriate staff from all parts of health and care with access to key data from each relevant system used in the delivery of care. This will improve efficiency and enable the provision of higher quality services. This project will therefore ensure that digital systems used are effective, flexible and reliable, to support an integrated health and care system.

Progress

Agreed an approach to procure the Manx Care Record with the Health and Care Transformation Boards. The intention is to procure the services necessary to deliver the Manx Care Record through a procurement being run on behalf of a range of potential participants in the North West of England. The Strategic Business Case (SBC) for an integrated care record, informed by the previous Options Appraisal commissioned by the Health and Care Transformation Programme (HCTP), has been developed by Business Change Services on behalf of the HCTP. The purpose of the SBC is to confirm that the funding envelope for the solution and the necessary business change to support it would be available for the next ten years (expected duration of the contract with the supplier).

Aims for the next 12 months

  • Develop Full Business Case for the engagement of a solution provider for the integrated care record

  • Commence preparation work for a solution implementation, data archiving, data cleansing

  • Continue engagement with organisation running the procurement

  • Subject to winning bid, and approval of Full Business Case, Award Contract
