Until 03:00 BST on Wednesday 10 September 2025

Large high tides over the next few days will come very close to causing some slight flooding around the inner harbours of Castletown, Douglas and Ramsey.

Time of high tide Tuesday 00:50 am

Douglas – a few centimetres below the Tongue
Castletown – Tide should remain about 10 cm below lowest flood gate – however floodgates should be closed.

Time of high tide Tuesday 1:09pm – No issues expected

Time of high tide Wednesday 1:30 am

Douglas – less than 5cm above Tongue – flood defences on The Tongue should be deployed.
Castletown – very close to base of flood gates – within a couple of centimetres – floodgates should be closed.
Ramsey – a few centimetres onto the Quay at Mezeron Corner

This advisory will be monitored and updated over the next few days.

The tides remain large for much of this week, so this advice is likely to be extended.
Warnings for Coastal Overtopping are likely to needed this week – but will be issued separately.
