Isle of Man Ship Registry launching new product at Monaco Yacht Show

Thursday, 11 May 2017

Dick Welsh Monaco Yachy Show 2017The Isle of Man Ship Registry will be launching a new product at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show - the Pleasure Yacht Plus service. The new service offers enhanced surveys and third party oversight for large pleasure yachts registered with the Island’s Ship Registry.

Dick Welsh, Director of the Isle of Man Ship Registry, commented:

‘The Isle of Man Ship Registry is continually evolving to meet owners’ wishes for the enhancement of safety and the promotion of excellence on board. As a globally respected flag of quality, we are seeing a growing number of ship owners registering large superyachts for personal use but with the crew and capacity, and hence the risk profile, of a commercial vessel. The Pleasure Yacht Plus service provides a bespoke survey regime aimed at confirming voluntary compliance with internationally recognised codes of safety.

‘This year’s Monaco Yacht Show will be a fantastic opportunity to promote this new product and meet with potential new clients for the Isle of Man Ship Registry.’

Andy Roy, Chair of the Isle of Man Superyacht Forum, commented:

‘Monaco Yacht Show is the yacht industry’s premier event for showcasing the Manx flag and is the perfect opportunity for developing business relationships and new contacts. The Superyacht Forum Committee will be attending again this year to promote our members’ expertise and the Island’s world-class Registry.’

Taking place during the 27 and 30 September 2017, Monaco Yacht Show is one of the key events in the yacht industry’s calendar. Local businesses wishing to join the Isle of Man stand at the Show this year should contact Alex Wilson at the Department of Economic Development on +44 1624 686186 or alex.wilson@gov.im
