Land Data Now Published on Gov.im

Thursday, 3 August 2017

The Land Registry is now publishing details of land transactions to gov.im Open Data, with the initial dataset covering the period from 2000 (the year land registration started) to June 2017.

The data will be updated every month and will show the address of the land that has changed hands, the consideration sum paid and in some cases the market value declared, the date of the transaction and the registration date. The data will not include details of the parties involved in the transaction.

John Wilkinson, Director of the Central Registry, commented:

‘Through requests received at the Registry, there is clearly a need to openly publish this data. The data will provide an objective comparison for banks, surveyors, estate agents and buyers/sellers who wish to have access to it. The Programme for Government commits to making more Government information available and increasing transparency in the way Government delivers its services and I believe this move to accessible information brings us even closer to this objective.’

The land data is available now

The Land Registry forms part of the Central Registry in the Department of Economic Development.
