Following a constructive meeting held on Wednesday 29 October 2014, the Employers’ and Employees’ Side of the Whitley Council confirmed their ongoing commitment to joint working to ensure that the Whitley Council remained focussed on issues of importance to both employers and employees and to the development of sustainable terms and conditions for public sector staff.
It was agreed by both Sides that for the financial year 2014/15 the pay award for Whitley Council staff will be an increase of 25p per hour for all Whitley Council Grades, which is equivalent to a 2% increase to pay budgets. The new rates of pay, which will take effect from 1 April 2014, will be included and updated in November 2014 pay; the arrears owed will be included in January 2015 pay.
In addition, General Workers - Grade 2 will be subsumed into Grade 3 with effect from 1 November 2014.
The operative date of this Agreement is 1 April 2014.
