OFT Launches its Good Trader Scheme

The Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading has launched its motor trade Good Trader Scheme to consumers. The Good Trader Scheme aims to protect the residents of the Isle of Man from unscrupulous traders and support local legitimate businesses which produce good quality work and in the process improve customer service.

The Scheme will put consumers in touch with approved traders who have agreed to provide a trustworthy, high standard of customer service. Checks have been carried out on these traders and an agreed process put in place for dealing with customer complaints.

Second hand car sales and vehicle servicing and repair are currently the third most complained about area by consumers to the OFT and the Scheme has been introduced to help overcome these problems.
