Financial Sanctions: Belarus

This news release is issued in respect of the financial measures taken against certain individuals associated with Belarus.

Annex I to Council Regulation (EC) No 765/2006 ("the 2006 Regulation") has been amended with effect from 31 October 2014, following the publication of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 1159/2014.

The changes to Annex I to the 2006 Regulation take the form of the delisting of twenty-four individuals and seven entities and the amendment of the identifying information of thirty-eight individuals and two entities.

Details of the twenty-four individuals and seven entities delisted and the amendments made to the identifying information of thirty-eight individuals and two entities can be found in the attached Annex.

The asset freeze no longer applies to the twenty-four individuals and seven entities removed from the list.

Financial institutions and other persons are required to check whether they maintain any accounts or otherwise hold funds, financial assets, economic benefits and economic resources for the designated persons and entities named and if so, they should freeze the accounts or funds and report their findings to the Sanctions Officer at the Customs and Excise Division of the Treasury. Where a relevant institution has already reported details of accounts, other funds or economic resources held frozen for the designated persons and entities they are not required to report these details again.
