Court Listings - An introduction

In accordance with the principle of open justice but also having regard to legitimate confidentiality and privacy issues we provide below information regarding forthcoming cases before the Isle of Man Courts of Justice. This information can change at short notice and you may wish to check the information by contacting the Isle of Man Courts of Justice Reception on +44 (0) 1624 685265.

The information provided contains details of regular court sittings and court listings before the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council, the Staff of Government (Appeal Division), the Civil Division of the High Court, the Court of General Gaol Delivery and the Courts of Summary Jurisdiction.

Appeals

The Judicial Committee of the Privy Council.

The Island's court of final appeal is the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council. Details of listings before this court can be obtained from the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council website.

Staff of Government (Appeal Division).

Appeals before the Staff of Government (Appeal Division) include Civil and Criminal appeals issued by way of Appeal Notices (2DS). See generally Part 14 of The Rules of the High Court of Justice 2009 in respect of Civil Appeals.

Civil Proceedings

Civil matters before the High Court include claims issued in the Small Claims Procedure (SCP), Summary Procedure (SUM), Ordinary Procedure (ORD) and the Chancery Procedure (CHP).

Listings before the Court of General Gaol Delivery which deals with criminal matters are provided below.

Regular Court Sittings

In addition to providing listings information in respect of specific cases, below is a table containing details of regular public court sittings (the majority of which are in the Summary Courts) which occur at the Isle of Man Courts of Justice.

It should be noted that the duration and recurrence of the Courts below are indicative only, and may be subject to late change. In addition, Bank Holidays may result in particular courts being rearranged for other days.
