Ridge of high pressure lies to the northwest of Ireland and in the Bay of Biscay, with a shallow low to the southwest of the area.

Wind

Variable 2 to 4, soon settling south or southwest 4 to 6 this afternoon, then increasing 5 or 6, occasionally 7 early evening. Decreasing 4 or 5, occasionally 6 early tonight but 3 or 4 in the southeast of the area. Increasing 4 to 6 early tomorrow morning.

State of sea

Smooth or slight, soon building mostly moderate but remaining slight in Liverpool Bay and Morecambe Bay.

Weather

Mainly fair, then mist and fog patches developing this afternoon.

Visibility

Good, falling poor or very poor in mist and fog patches later.

Wind

South 5 or 6 but 3 or 4 in the eastern waters, veering southwest 4 or 5 in all waters overnight into Sunday.

Moderate, locally slight in Liverpool Bay and Morecambe Bay.
