The Road Races Bill 2015 aims to better reflect the needs of event organisers, participants and fans by reducing bureaucracy, enhancing safety and increasing the period over which road racing can take place.

The Department of Infrastructure is seeking feedback on proposals to update the Isle of Man’s highway legislation. The draft Highways (Amendment) Bill 2015 proposes a series of amendments to the Highways Act 1986, with the aim of improving road safety and providing greater clarity on matters such as the making up of private streets.

Scoping for New Marine Primary LegislationPrimary Marine Legislation

The Department of Infrastructure has committed to the formulation of bespoke primary legislation for the marine environment. The main purpose of this new primary legislation is to bring together the necessary components of the existing legislation that relate to the territorial seas to develop one streamlined system for consenting. It is proposed that by creating one system with the appropriate legislation, it will provide a greater level of clarity and certainty for potential applicants and stakeholders throughout the process.

The Isle of Man Strategic Plan Review - Publication of Draft PlanThe Draft Isle of Man Strategic Plan 2015

The Isle of Man Strategic Plan 2007 sets out the broad housing needs for the Island. The 2011 Census and adjusted population projections has provided the opportunity to update the housing figures. A revised Strategic Plan has now been drafted which proposes to update Strategic Policy 11, Housing Policy 1 and Housing Policy 3 and some of the accompanying text.

The Department is seeking views on the Draft Isle of Man Strategic Plan 2015. A Response Form has been produced which is available to complete online (see useful links) or can be printed off, completed by hand and posted back to the Planning Policy Team at the Sea Terminal.

A staffed public consultation event at the Sea Terminal, Douglas has been scheduled for Saturday 21st February 2015 between 10am and 2pm. Display material will however be available for the length of the consultation period starting on 19th January 2015.
