The Public Sector Pensions Authority (PSPA) is an independent Statutory Board. The functions of the PSPA are set out in the Public Sector Pensions Act 2011. Its principal role is to manage and administer the pensions and injury benefits for a majority of Isle of Man public servants. The work of the PSPA is overseen by the PSPA Board.
The PSPA administers the following pension schemes:
- Isle of Man Government Unified Scheme 2011
- Police Pensions Regulations 1991 and 2010
- Teachers’ Pension Scheme 2010
- Judicial Pension Scheme 1992 and 2004
The PSPA is also responsible for the management of the:
- Public Sector Compensation Scheme 2014
- The Teachers’ Compensation Scheme 2014
- Public Sector Injury Benefit Scheme 2015
The Administration for the two Compensation Schemes is carried out Employing Authorities.
The PSPA also has the responsibility for:
- providing policy and guidance to Ministers on public sector pensions;
- making and maintaining the legislation for each of its schemes; and
- determining appeals made by members of the schemes.
