Welcome to the Isle of Man Manx Care Patient Group Direction (PGD) library.

PGD’s allow healthcare professionals to supply and administer specified medicines to pre-defined groups of patients, without a prescription and are used in line with legislation, so that patients have safe and speedy access to the medicines they need.

A policy for the Implementation, Utilisation And Authorisation of Patient Group Directions defines that only registered healthcare professionals that have attended Manx Care PGD training and have a completed competency book are legally authorised to use PGD’s.

The PGD’s in this library are not signed in order to comply with GDPR regulations regarding staff personal details. By appearing in this library, Manx Care confirms that the master PGD is valid and signed in accordance with the policy. Any staff member wishing to view a signed PGD can request this by contacting any member of the PGD group.

There are some PGD documents which have been scanned and aren't searchable. If you need any of these in an alternative format, please contact us via email at PGD@gov.im or by phone at +44 1624 685166.
