Island residents invited to share views on Autism Acceptance work

Today

People across the Isle of Man are being encouraged to take part in a survey to help assess the impact of this year’s Autism Acceptance Month and influence future work under the Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) Strategy.

Those completing the survey do not need to be autistic or have a family connection to autism to take part in the survey. Feedback from the wider public is important in helping to build a clearer picture of how awareness and acceptance of autism are developing across the Island.

The Autism Acceptance and Strategy Impact Survey aims to understand levels of awareness of the campaign held in April 2026, including how effectively its activities and messages reached the wider community.

Autism Acceptance Month takes place each April and seeks to share information, improve understanding and increase acceptance of autism within the wider community.

This year’s campaign included a launch event at Douglas City Hall, public meetings, buildings across the Island being lit up green and yellow and the launch a ‘Quiet Hours’ initiative, encouraging retailers to make their environment calmer and more accessible by temporarily reducing sources of sensory stimulation.

The survey also provides an opportunity for people to give feedback on the campaign and help identify what is working well and what could be improved in future.

The survey can be completed online at Autism Acceptance and Strategy Impact Survey.

The closing date is Thursday 5 November 2026.
