The Census Office reports 73 per cent of households have returned their census forms and reminder letters are being sent out to support homes which have not yet responded.
Forms can be completed online, on paper, by phone or in person with a census officer. Households can ignore the letter if they have returned their census this week and if unsure, they can turn to the Census Office team for advice.
Every household is required by law to complete their census form.
Minister for the Cabinet Office Hon David Ashford MBE MHK thanks those who have supported the Island’s census so far.
‘Every completed census form counts and the rate of returns to date is excellent - thank you to every home which has taken part so far. I encourage those who haven’t yet completed their form to please find a few minutes to be part of the census.
‘The information the census form includes for every person, every household makes a difference to how Government departments, local authorities, charities, and businesses understand the Island’s population and its needs.
‘Your information will help to provide vital insight to the Island’s population and communities and inform decisions about key services such as health care, education, housing, and transport. It will also ensure that planning for public services and infrastructure can depend on up-to-date statistics.’
