Update on political appointments

The Council of Ministers has made a number of appointments to Government departments and Tynwald has approved appointments to the board of Manx Utilities. 

Cabinet Office

Lawrie Hooper MHK has been appointed as a member of the Cabinet Office by the Council of Ministers. 

Mr Hooper takes over from Dr Alex Allinson MHK following his recent appointment as Minister for Education, Sport and Culture. 

Mr Hooper remains a member of the Department for Enterprise, but will no longer be a member of the Department of Education, Sport and Culture. 

Department for Enterprise

Peter Greenhill MLC has been appointed as a member of the Department for Enterprise. Mr Greenhill takes over from Tim Crookall. 

Department of Home Affairs

Rob Callister MHK has been appointed as a member of the Department of Home Affairs. 

Mr Callister takes over from Dr Alex Allinson MHK. 

Mr Callister remains a member at the Department for Enterprise. 

Manx Utilities

Tynwald this week approved the appointment of Tim Baker MHK as Chair of Manx Utilities and the appointment of Peter Greenhill MLC as Vice Chair. Mr Baker takes over from Dr Alex Allinson MHK and Mr Greenhill takes over from Tim Crookall. 
Mr Baker remains a member at the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture, and also the Department of Infrastructure. 

Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture

Martyn Perkins MHK has been appointed Chair of the Planning Committee by the Council of Ministers. Mr Perkins takes over from Tim Baker MHK. 

Preservation of War Memorials Committee

The Council of Ministers has appointed Daphne Caine MHK as Chair of the Isle of Man Preservation of War Memorials Committee. Mrs Caine has served on the Committee since 2016 as Vice Chair.
