Flybe – Update from Patient Transfers

Patients who have missed appointments due to lack of flight today (Thursday 05/03/2020)

We are in the process of contacting the UK hospitals to rearrange all patients’ appointments. We will be liaising with the hospitals and these patients will be offered an alternative appointment, prioritised by clinical need. We will also be contacting each patient directly to determine any clinical concerns they may have on a case by case basis and escalate as appropriate.

Patients due to attend an appointment from tomorrow (Friday 06/03/2020)

We are in the process of contacting all patients this afternoon and where possible, they will be offered the opportunity to travel to the UK by the evening ferry. Accommodation and travel whilst in the UK will be arranged and funded by the Department.

Patient Transfer Office – Extended Hours

The patient transfer office will extend opening hours as follows to aid urgent patient bookings and queries:

  • Thursday 05/03/2020 9am to 7pm
  • Friday 06/03/2020 9am to 7pm
  • Saturday 07/03/2020 9am to 12pm
  • Sunday 08/03/2020 9am to 12pm

Could we please stress that patients only contact the patient transfer office if they are travelling on or before Monday 9 March 2020 at the present time as the team are dealing with a significant volume of calls.

We would again like to sincerely apologise to all patients affected by the loss of Flybe and thank you very much for your understanding as we work to put in place alternative arrangements.
