Appointment of new Chief Financial Officer

Wednesday, 30 January 2019

Caldric Randall has been appointed as the new Chief Financial Officer for the Isle of Man Government.

Mr Randall is a Fellow of the Association of the Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), qualifying in 2000, and has been at the Isle of Man Government since 2008. He started as the Chief Internal Auditor, before progressing onto the role of Financial Controller, a post he held for four years.

Treasury Minister Alfred Cannan MHK said:

“I am delighted that Caldric has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer, following a robust recruitment process. I know that he is committed to ensuring financial sustainability and credibility for the long term future of the Island.

“I would like to thank Sheila Lowe for her outstanding contribution to Government and the Treasury.”

Caldric Randall said:

“I am delighted and proud to have been appointed. I look forward to continuing to build on the firm financial foundations that are in place which have allowed the Island to prosper and grow.

There are currently many economic uncertainties in play across the globe which may impact on the Isle of Man.  It is vital that we continue to ensure that our fiscal planning and strategies are robust so that we are able to deal with whatever outcomes prevail.

The immediate priority for me will be the presentation of the 2019 Budget to Tynwald in February and I look forward to supporting the Minister with its delivery.”
