Port Soderick Glen

Saturday, 27 April 2019

The Isle of Man Government has committed to reinstating areas affected by recent upgrade works at Port Soderick Glen. Working with Wildflowers of Man, DEFA will work to fully restore the damaged area.

Work to repair Port Soderick Glen was required and undertaken following consistent weather damage to the glen’s paths and riverbanks.

Additionally, works were undertaken to accommodate visitors who were less mobile or disabled. This resulted in machinery used during the restoration causing damage to the river bank.

Chief Minister, Howard Quayle MHK, said:

‘It is important that we ensure our Island amenities are open to all visitors, including those who may be less mobile or disabled. We must also ensure that we protect and take care of our natural environment and habitats in a changing climate.

‘Immediate action is underway to reinstate the area and DEFA will work closely with partners to resolve this as a matter of urgency.’
