Varied agenda at spring GP education session

Monday, 1 April 2019

A speaker from the Royal College of General Practitioners will give a talk to Island GPs at their upcoming education session on Thursday 4 April 2019 from 1pm - 6pm.

Routine GP appointments will not be available that afternoon but anyone who needs to see a doctor urgently should ring their surgery for an appointment with the on-call GP.

Practices will remain open during the afternoon for patients to collect test results, make future appointments and order repeat prescriptions as normal.

Alongside the briefing from the GPs’ professional body, topics to be discussed by Island doctors at the spring gathering include diabetes and cholesterol.

The quarterly education sessions were established in 2012 to give GPs the opportunity to discuss developments in medical care and best practice and to examine ways to enhance care for patients in the Isle of Man, at a focused session away from their surgeries.
