Isle of Man Youth Survey prizes

A random selection of 15 young people who completed the 2018 Youth Survey have been presented prizes by the Minister for Education, Sport and Culture, Graham Cregeen MHK.

The biannual survey, which launched in February, sought feedback from all of the Island’s 11 – 18 year olds with 60 questions on a host of subjects including health, leisure, social attitudes and lifestyle choices.

Three winners went away with top prizes of an Apple Watch and two iPads, with twelve runners-up receiving vouchers.

Minister for Education, Sport and Culture, Graham Cregeen MHK, said:

'The survey plays a vital role in getting direct feedback from our young people and in turn helps to shape many of the services they use and interact with.

'We had a record response this year with 1,590 young people completing the survey. Representing around 30% of the Island’s young people – a very high response rate for a survey.

'I would like to extend my congratulations to the winners and my thanks to everyone who took the time to complete the survey. It really does inform what Government and partner agencies do and provides our young people with a voice to shape the services they use.'

The survey is coordinated by the Youth Trust, an independent Manx charity established in 2015, and is supported by the Youth Service.

The survey closed in mid-April and the results are now being analysed before being presented to the Department of Education, Sport and Culture later this summer.
