2018 Year of Our Island concludes its celebration of creativity and innovation with launch of photography competition

Monday, 4 June 2018

After the packed schedule of events during May about innovation and creativity, a photography competition has launched to help celebrate 2018 Year of Our Island.

The competition is open to all ages and abilities and will focus on three key themes: quality of life, national pride, and stronger partnerships.

The 2018 Year of Our Island project is a Cabinet Office led initiative designed to celebrate the Isle of Man as a special place to live and work and to raise the profile of the Isle of Man as a UNESCO biosphere region.

Speaking on the competition, 2018 Year of Our Island Chair Chris Thomas MHK said:

'This is a fantastic opportunity to take a snapshot of Island life.

'The aim of the 2018 Year of Our Island project is to celebrate all there is to explore, do and share and this competition will allow people to tell their story about what makes the Isle of Man a special place to live and work for them.'

The deadline for submissions is 5pm on Monday 31 December 2018 with a shortlist of entries being drawn up in late January.
