'For The Fallen' is a brand new production commissioned by the Isle of Man Arts Council to commemorate the Island's involvement in World War One.

The play, which focusses on the lives of the people at home during the war, has been created to mark the 100th anniversary since the end of World War One on 11 November.

Created by a professional team of theatre makers and performed by an all community cast, the production is being staged at Ballakermeen Studio Theatre.

The production runs from Tuesday 24 April to Saturday 28 April. Tickets are £10 and available from www.forthefalleniom.eventbrite.com.

Newly appointed Chair of the Isle of Man Arts Council, Marlene Hendy MLC, said:

'The Arts Council considers the funding of devised drama of this kind to be very important, especially when providing opportunities for our community to be involved.'

'In this year when we commemorate the centenary of the end of World War One, bringing our own unique Manx stories about this terrible time to a modern day audience is an essential part of remembering the fallen and those at home who endured loss and hardship.'

The performances will give audiences a rare opportunity to see the Studio Theatre set up in the round. This intimate setting will be available in a limited 80 seat capacity per night, which will bring the audience physically closer to the performers and guarantee they are enveloped in the story and characters.
