Manx Sport and Recreation introduces online booking with new-look website

Wednesday, 25 October 2017

Manx Sport and Recreation (MSR) has launched a completely rebranded website, including a new facility for making online bookings at the National Sports Centre.

The new-look website covers the NSC and all its facilities, the Sports Development Unit and links to the Isle of Man Sport site.

The look and style of the website now reflects the new brand which has been adopted by MSR and which will be appearing on all leaflets, posters and other promotional material.

The site also introduces a completely new facility for the NSC: online booking

All that is needed to make a booking is an NSC account, an email address and a password. Anyone who does not have an NSC account - which comes as part of the NSC membership card - can obtain one at reception on your next visit.

Bookings can be made online for exercise classes, including pool-based sessions up to one week in advance. Court sessions (badminton, table tennis for example) will continue to be available by telephone or by booking in person, with a view to have this available online next year with other MSR activities.

The new site can be found at www.msr.gov.im and a guide to online booking at msr.gov.im/help.

Anyone visiting the current NSC website address will automatically be redirected to the new site. Existing telephone booking lines will continue to operate as normal.

Paul Bridson, Head of Manx Sport and Recreation commented:

'In line with the IOM Government Digital Strategy, the introduction of online bookings is another key step in ensuring that Manx Sport and Recreation can deliver its strategic aim of more people, more active, more often. Improving the range of options that makes it easier for customers to find out about the range and scope of activities available and to book and pay for schemes and programmes will be vital in achieving this.'

Graham Cregeen MHK, Minister for Education and Children, agreed with these comments. He said:

'I share Manx Sport and Recreation’s positive approach to this new development. I want to see our vision really come to life, and by making booking facilities even simpler than before this is another important step towards making this a reality.'
