A new services portal is available online enabling any person looking to order and pay for certified copies of birth, death, marriage and civil partnership certificates to do so through the Isle of Man Government website.
The Civil Registry, who holds the records, will be responsible for dispatching all certificates ordered and paid for in this manner by return of post.
John Wilkinson, Director of the Central Registry at the Department for Enterprise, commented:
‘We have been trialling this service for some time now and have been delighted by the uptake so far. The feedback we have had from our customers is that the service is very user friendly, easy to follow and quick to complete, with customers pleased to have received their certificates so quickly.
‘We are planning on rolling out more online services in relation to civil registration in the near future but I am confident that in taking this first step we have started to make our services more accessible and convenient for our customers.’
The service can be accessed through a desktop, laptop or smartphone supporting the Programme for Government’s objective of transforming Government services through the use of digital technology.
