Financial Sanctions: ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida

This news release is issued in respect of the restrictive measures directed against the ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida organisations.

Annex I to Council Regulation (EC) No 881/2002 has been amended with effect from 1 October 2016, following the publication of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 2016/1739.

The amendment reflects the decision made on 24 September 2016 by the United Nations Security Council to remove two entries from its list of persons, groups and entities to whom the freezing of funds and economic resources should apply.

The following entries have been removed and are no longer subject to an asset freeze.
