Take the Loom-atic Challenge to raise money for Alder Hey and Ronald McDonald House

Thursday, 30 June 2016

The Friends of Scoill yn Jubilee are hosting a fundraiser to raise money for Alder Hey Children’s Charity and Ronald McDonald House. The event will take place on 10 July at the Scoill yn Jubilee Infant Site on Stony Road in Douglas from 2pm to 5pm and everyone is welcome to take part.

The challenge will be to aim to make a loom band chain that will reach from the Infant Site to the Junior Site on Laureston Avenue which is 370 metres long and will consist of over 110,000 loom bands. Each child that takes part and brings a pre made loom band or makes one on the day will receive an exclusive hand designed badge and a Davison’s Ice Cream on presentation of their sponsorship form and money. There will also be loom bands available to purchase on the day at £5 per bag if you would like to join in the challenge.

There are also 2 tickets for the fantastic Lemur Experience donated by the Wildlife Park up for grabs for the child and their guardian that makes the longest loom band chain.

Thanks to the kind generosity of our sponsors, Manx Youth Opportunities, LJ Partnership and Cannell Print, 100% of all monies raised will go directly to these worthwhile charities, which so many of our children and their families have benefitted from. Last year alone over 50 Isle of Man families stayed at Ronald McDonald House.

Refreshments for everyone taking part have been kindly donated by Robinsons and The Co-operative and the Code Bus will also be in attendance.

Sponsorship forms for children that don’t attend Scoill yn Jubilee are available from the school offices on both sites or by contacting Claire on 233586.
