On 25 August 2014 a judgment of the General Court of the European Union in regard to Alchaar vs Council (Case T-203/12) (“the Judgment”) was published in the Official Journal of the European Union .

The judgment annulled Council Implementing Regulation (EU) No 363/2013 of 22 April 2013 implementing Regulation (EU) No 36/2012 concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Syria, in so far as it concerns Mohammad AL-SHAAR.

The judgment was not appealed with 2 months and 10 days and so it has now come into force.
