Duke of Edinburgh 60th Birthday

2016 is the 60th anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, and the Isle of Man will be celebrating it with the following events:         

  • January – March: an exhibition will be on display at the House of Manannan showing photographs and memorabilia from the past 60 years of DofE on the Isle of Man. If anyone has anything they would be willing to put on display, please contact Alison Gawne, Awards Coordinator. 
  • January – December: the Isle of Man Anniversary Challenge gives people the opportunity to complete a section of DofE and raise money for the local grant fund to help young people with the cost of their Award. Cost to register is £10. 
  • April – October: Seven Hilltop Adventures is a geocaching challenge to encourage people out onto the hills and to raise money for the local grant fund to help young people with the cost of their Award. The book of clues costs £10, these will be numbered and there will be a prize draw at the end of the year.
