This news release is issued in respect of the restrictive measures directed against certain persons and entities associated with South Sudan.
Annexes I and II to Council Regulation (EU) No 2015/735 have been amended with effect from 10 July 2015, following the publication of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 2015/1112 (“the amending Regulation”).
The amending Regulation reflects the decision made on 1 July 2015 by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Committee to add six individuals to the UN South Sudan list. As a result, two individuals who were previously listed in Annex II to Council Regulation (EU) No 2015/735 have been moved to Annex I of the Regulation. Their identifying information has been updated and they are still subject to an asset freeze.

If so, they must freeze such accounts or other funds and, unless licensed by the Treasury, refrain from dealing with said funds or economic resources, and suspend the provision of any financial services. They must also report their findings to the Sanctions Officer at the Customs and Excise Division of the Treasury. Where a relevant institution has already reported details of accounts, other funds or economic resources held frozen for the designated persons they are not required to report these details again.
