Tuesday, 21 October 2014

The Isle of Man’s Agreement for the Exchange of Information Relating to Tax Matters with the Swiss Confederation entered into force on 14 October 2014.

The agreement is part of the Isle of Man Government’s programme of developing closer economic and taxation co-operation with other countries around the world.

It was signed on 28 August 2013 in London between Eddie Teare MHK, the Isle of Man’s Treasury Minister, and Frank Grütter, Chargé d’affaires a.i. of Switzerland.

The Isle of Man ratified the agreement at the November 2013 sitting of Tynwald, and on 26 November 2013 the Hon Allan Bell MHK, Chief Minister of the Isle of Man, informed Swiss Confederation that ratification had taken place.

On 14 October 2014, the Chief Minister received notification from His Excellency, Dominik Furgler Ambassador of Switzerland in London, that the Swiss Confederation has completed its own ratification procedures.

The text of the agreement can be viewed on the International Agreements page of the Isle of Man Treasury Income Tax Division’s website.
