Time running out to comment on Island's accessibility guide

Wednesday, 9 July 2014

The Department of Health and Social Care is reminding the public about the opportunity to comment on the quality and effectiveness of the disability access guide for the Isle of Man. The public consultation, which launched on the 2 June, will come to an end on Sunday 13 July.

The consultation is being held ahead of the expiration of the contract with current provider UK based DisabledGo with the contract shortly to go out for an expressions of interest.

The accessibility guide offers reviews of over 1,200 venues in the Isle of Man providing information from basic contact details to the level of facilities available for those with disabilities such as ramps, large print leaflets, disabled toilets, disabled parking and hearing loops.

There are two online surveys available for completion – one for individuals, and one for organisations already listed on the DisabledGo website. Further information is available online at www.gov.im/ConsultationDetail.gov?id=441.
