Public still have time to comment on standards for child day care services

Friday, 11 April 2014

The Department of Health and Social Care is reminding the public, and parents and child day care providers in particular, of the opportunity to comment upon the proposed revised standards for child day care services.

The purpose of this review is to ensure the standards that govern child day care improve, are current and are in keeping with best practice. The new standards will provide clear information to child day care providers on what is required of them. The standards will also be of interest to parents as the care standards provide clear descriptions of what they can expect for their children when they attend day care services on the Island.

The draft standards can be found here.

Parents and child day care providers (as they will be responsible for implementing the standards) are strongly encouraged to contribute their suggestions and views on the proposed standards before the closing date.
