Education Act 2001
The Department of Education and Children gives notice in accordance with Schedule 2 to the Education Act 2001 that it proposes to make an order under section 3(1) of that Act -
(a) to close, with effect from 1st May 2014, the primary schools provided by the
Department and known as Ballacloan Infants' School, Douglas and Fairfield Junior
School, Douglas; and
(b) to establish, with effect from 1st May 2014, a new primary school to be provided by the Department on the premises of Ballacloan Infants' School, Douglas and Fairfield
Junior School, Douglas, and to be known as Henry Bloom Noble Primary School
Any of the following persons -
(a) the governing body of any maintained school affected by the proposals;
(b) any 10 or more persons resident in the Island who are for the time being registered in a register of electors maintained under the Registration of Electors Act 2006;
may within 3 months after 14th October 2013 submit objections in writing to the proposals to the Department at the address below.
