Financial Sanctions: Al-Qaida

This news release is issued in respect of the restrictive measures directed against certain persons and entities associated with the Al-Qaida network.

Annex I to Council Regulation (EC) No 881/2002 has been amended with effect from 11 October 2013, following the publication of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 965/2013.

The amendment reflects the decision made on 1 October 2013 by the United Nations Sanctions Council (UNSC) Committee established pursuant to Resolution 1267 (1999) to remove one individual from the UN Al-Qaida list.

The individual who has been deleted from Annex I is no longer subject to the asset freeze imposed by the 2002 Regulation.
