Famous Welsh Choir Supports Local Cancer Charity

Friday, 11 October 2013

The 80-strong Bridgend Male Voice Choir has joined forces with the Isle of Man Anti-Cancer Association to put on a special fundraiser. The Welshmen will be singing their choral favourites in a half-hour lunchtime session.

The event takes place at the Villa Marina Arcade on Friday 18 October 1.30pm to 2.00pm. All are welcome to pop along to this free performance to hear these powerful Welsh voices fill the Arcade with song. All donations will go to the Isle of Man Anti-Cancer Association.

Chairman of the Association, Mr Geoff Corkish MBE MHK said:

'I know that the Bridgend Male Voice Choir has strong links with anti-cancer in Wales and I’m so pleased the choir have so generously offered to sing in support of anti-cancer here on the Isle of Man.'

Gareth Davies from the Bridgend MVC said:

'The choir is looking forward to performing this charity session at the Villa Marina Arcade, ahead of competing in this year’s Isle of Man Festival of Choirs.'

The Festival of Choirs sees ten choirs vying for the title of Choir of the Festival and takes place on Saturday 19 October and Sunday 20 October in the Villa Marina Royal Hall. Weekend tickets are available from villagaiety.com priced £6.
