The Minister for Social Care Hon Chris Robertshaw MHK said:
'The issue considered by Onchan Commissioners is only one part of the Housing Review work currently being undertaken by David Tolson Partnership. No report has been issued as the work is still in draft form. There have been a number of meetings and presentations to Politicians and Officers from all Housing Authorities across the Island to enable ongoing engagement and input on the options identified.
There has been a lot of interest, quite rightly, in this particular project given the implications for the Housing Authorities. Unfortunately, a somewhat premature discussion has resulted in this issue being debated in isolation without the detail on the four other projects which cover the wider context including, Housing Need and Affordable Housing Options.
The Department look forward to continued engagement with all Housing Authorities in the coming months to ensure that we can address the challenges we face and create a Housing Service fit for the future.'
