Managers from the Department of Infrastructure pass the intensive NEBOSH Safety Course with flying colours

Wednesday, 12 June 2013

Managers from across the Department of Infrastructure’s Operations Division have been very busy over the winter period studying for the globally recognised health and safety qualifications, the NEBOSH General and Construction Certificates.

NEBOSH offer vocationally-related qualifications designed to meet the health, safety, environmental and risk management needs of all places of work in both the private and public sectors. In total, 17 managers went through the courses which involved preparing a practical report, and sitting through two closed book exams between December and January. It was very encouraging to see that a high number of these managers passed the courses with high grades, showing their commitment to health and safety and to the Department.

The training of these managers also goes hand in hand with the recent certification of Waste to ISO 9001 and 14001, and BS OHSAS 18001 which are standards that denote good management systems.
